The IaCMA recently announced that its membership based listserv “The Grapevine” is changing, returning to an email-based discussion forum with an online archive of messages. The change was warranted as a result of an increase in monthly costs for the previous version.
Iowa League of Cities’ Director of Membership Services Mark Tomb said “Users will have the choice of receiving messages as they are submitted or receiving a daily digest message. Users will also be able to halt messages for up to four weeks at a time and attachments to messages will be limited to 1MB.”
Members are encouraged to switch to the new Grapevine during the first two weeks of March; while both sites will be operational during the month of March, members are encouraged to make the switch as soon as possible. The old version of Grapevine will no longer exist as of March 29, 2013.
Membership to the email distribution service is available to any fully qualified member of IaCMA. If you are interested signing up for this service, please contact Mark Tomb.

Conference Program –The theme of the 2013 IMMI is “IMMI: Looking Back, Planning Ahead”.
IMMI is approved for Iowa Municipal Professional Flexible Credits (7 credits) by IMFOA. Please be sure to request this in advance of the conference. IMMI has also been approved for Continuing Legal Education (CLE – 2 credits).
Registration – IMMI conference registration will again be handled directly by the University Conference Center. Attendees should register electronically at http://www.continuetolearn.uiowa.edu/UIConferences/meetings.aspx?cnfcode=13-072-01
You may also register by phone 1-800-551-9029 or 319-335-4141, fax 319-335-4039, or by mail. The conference registration form and program information is also available at our website at http://www.ipa-uiowa.org/conference.html
Please note that registering for the conference does not reserve you a room at the Sheraton. This has to be done separately.
Registration Fee – In recognition of the current financial/budget constraints of many local governments – and thanks to the very generous support of the Iowa City/County Management Association (IaCMA), the Tim Shields Foundation, and our corporate conference sponsors, we are very pleased to announce that registration fees for this special IMMI have been reduced (despite some significant increases again in conference costs).
The conference registration fee for the program and meals is $380.
Registration Deadline – The deadline for conference registration to take advantage of the $380 fee is Wednesday, February 27. After February 27, the conference fee is $420.
